Top Floor Studio Share available

CRATE would like to invite fine artists who are on our studio waiting list to apply to use a top-floor studio on a 'studio share basis' which has become available for long term rent.

This is a beautiful studio with access to the roof and wonderful views over Margate and the sea. The space is 36.7m2, has excellent light with large windows facing north and west and is suitable as a shared or individual space.

The studio rent is £115 per month (plus a one-off deposit) which covers 24-hour access to the space, domestic-standard Wifi, reasonable use of utilities, membership of Crate and access to Crate's project spaces and resources. The minimum license period for CRATE’s studios is six months. (Please note that the studio is accessible by stairs only.)

Statement on work
Examples of work (up to 6 images, and/or short extracts from sound or moving images works)

Timeline:
Deadline for applications: 15th May
Opportunity to view the studio and to meet the current studioholder: 19th May 12-5pm (email admin@cratespace.co.uk to book a visit)
Notification of outcome of application: 26th May

The CRATE building in Bilton Square, close to Margate Old Town, is a former print works with studio space on three floors. There are 5 individual/shared studios – including 1 wheelchair accessible unit on the ground floor. The studios are permanent and let to fine artists following an application process. They range from £100 to £200 inclusive per calendar month, with self contained units of 16m sq to 36.7 m sq. All have WI FI access. Studio holders have access to the project spaces when not being used by the CRATE programme.
